"APC is Dead": El-Rufai Claims Knowledge of People Who Paid for Ministerial Appointments Under Tinubu Govt

Abuja, Nigeria – In a shocking revelation, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is "dead" and alleged that some individuals paid for ministerial appointments under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at a public event, El-Rufai, a prominent APC member, criticized the current state of the party, accusing it of abandoning its founding principles. "The APC as we know it is dead," he said. "It has become a shadow of its former self, driven by personal interests rather than the welfare of Nigerians."

El-Rufai further claimed that he is aware of individuals who secured ministerial positions through financial means. "I know people who paid for their appointments," he stated, without naming specific names. "This is not the kind of government we promised the people."

The former governor’s comments have sparked widespread reactions, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the alleged corruption and lack of transparency in the Tinubu administration. Opposition parties have seized on the remarks, calling for an investigation into the claims.

In response, the APC has dismissed El-Rufai’s statements as baseless and divisive. "These allegations are unfounded and do not reflect the reality of our party’s commitment to good governance," said a party spokesperson.

Political analysts say El-Rufai’s outburst highlights the growing internal strife within the APC, which has faced criticism over its handling of the economy, security, and other key issues. The former governor’s remarks could further deepen divisions within the party as it prepares for future elections.

As the controversy unfolds, Nigerians are calling for accountability and transparency in government appointments, while the Tinubu administration faces mounting pressure to address the allegations.
