Nigerian singer Orezi has made startling revelations about his past relationships and experiences with women, including a failed promise to buy a house for a former lover and a jaw-dropping N30 million gift from a woman he met at a club.
In a recent interview with Echo Room, the Ogede crooner addressed the ongoing Lamborghini saga involving Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje. Orezi admitted that he once promised a house to a woman he was romantically involved with but never fulfilled the promise.
“I once promised a lady a house but I didn’t deliver. Why would I buy her a house? For what? Ladies also promise to be faithful to one partner and they often fail. So, let every gender keep promising. It’s a dog-eat-dog world [laughs],” Orezi said, downplaying the importance of keeping such promises.
The singer also shared an eye-opening story about a wealthy woman he met at a club in Abuja in 2016. According to Orezi, the woman gifted him N30 million after a night of clubbing and intimacy. He clarified that the money was not payment for sex but rather an appreciation for his company.
“I wouldn’t say she paid me for sex. She only appreciated me for satisfying her. The highest amount I have received from a woman is N30 million. It was 2016 in Abuja,” Orezi revealed.
He described the woman as a “nice aboki [Hausa] woman” who willingly sent him the money after they spent time together. Orezi admitted he was shocked by the gesture, especially when he showed his friends the bank alert.
“When I showed my friends the alert, they were shocked that a woman could gift a man such an amount. A lot of male celebrities enjoy the same privilege. I feel like it’s a normal thing. I know a couple of artists who do. I’m sure they enjoy the same privilege. The same way there’s ‘fine girl privilege,’ there’s also the privilege of being a celebrity,” he added.
Orezi’s candid revelations have sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his honesty and others criticizing his views on relationships and promises. The interview has also reignited conversations about the dynamics of gender and financial exchanges in romantic relationships.
