Suspect Confesses to Using Skulls for Spiritual Concoction; Criminal Gang Nabbed for Altering Stolen Tricycles
The Ebonyi State Police Command has made significant breakthroughs in two separate criminal cases, arresting suspects involved in possession of human skulls and a tricycle theft syndicate.
In the first case, a man identified as Ovuta Chigozie from Okoffia community in Ezza South LGA was apprehended for being in possession of two human skulls and three locally made guns. During interrogation, Chigozie confessed that the skulls were given to him for the preparation of a spiritual concoction. Authorities are currently pursuing the individual who allegedly provided the skulls.
In a separate operation, police operatives uncovered a criminal syndicate specializing in altering the colours of stolen tricycles from neighbouring states. The operation led to the arrest of Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba. Three stolen tricycles were recovered from the suspects, who admitted to receiving the vehicles from accomplices for colour modifications.
The Ebonyi State Police Command, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the arrests and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state. All suspects will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
These arrests highlight the police command’s efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents in Ebonyi State.
