Gunmen Attack Pharmacy in Nasarawa, Abduct Proprietor and Sales Boys, Shoot Passerby

Unknown gunmen invaded a pharmacy shop in Agyaragu, Jenkwe Development Area, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on Thursday evening, abducting the proprietor and two of his sales boys. During the attack, which occurred at about 8:44 pm, the assailants shot and injured a young lady who was a passerby.

The incident, which lasted for about an hour, took place at the popular ‘Emmy Gold Pharmacy Nigeria Limited’. Witnesses reported that the gunmen, who were heavily armed, stormed the pharmacy, shooting sporadically and causing panic in the area.


A source familiar with the incident stated, “The gunmen were well armed. Their shooting scared everybody. They forced the owner of the pharmacy and two of his boys into the bush.”


The source expressed concern over the lack of security intervention during the attack and called on the Nasarawa State governor to increase security presence in Agyaragu and surrounding communities. He also urged security agencies to implement effective measures to curb kidnapping and ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals.


Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation of the incident were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
