In a move to further drive the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson as Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, and Mrs. Uju Anwuka as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Health. Both appointments are within the Office of the Vice President and take immediate effect.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communication, in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu Approves Appointment of Special Adviser, Senior Special Assistant In VP’s Office.’
Strengthening Job Creation and MSME Development
Mr. Adekunle-Johnson, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant in the Vice President’s office, has been instrumental in driving key policies and programs aimed at job creation and the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. His new role as Special Adviser will see him continue to spearhead initiatives such as the Expanded National MSME Clinics and the Shared Facility Initiative, which have been pivotal in supporting small businesses and fostering economic growth.
“As Senior Special Assistant, Mr. Adekunle-Johnson has diligently driven some of the administration’s policies and programmes in areas of job creation and development in the micro, small and medium enterprises space in Nigeria,” the statement read.
Advancing Public Health and Nutrition
Mrs. Uju Anwuka, who transitions from her previous role as Special Assistant, has been a key figure in the administration’s efforts to combat malnutrition and hunger, particularly in vulnerable communities across the country. As the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant on Public Health, she will continue to oversee critical programs, including the recently launched Nutrition 774 Initiative, which aims to address nutritional deficiencies and improve public health outcomes nationwide.
“Mrs. Onwuka has industriously anchored the administration’s vision in combating malnutrition and hunger, especially in vulnerable communities across the country, while serving as Special Assistant,” Nkwocha stated.
Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda
The appointments underscore President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening governance and delivering on his administration’s promises. By elevating these experienced officials to higher roles, the government aims to enhance its capacity to address pressing issues such as unemployment, MSME development, and public health challenges.
“These appointments are in continuation of efforts to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration, especially in the respective sectors,” the statement emphasized.
Immediate Impact
With the appointments taking immediate effect, both Adekunle-Johnson and Anwuka are expected to hit the ground running, building on their previous achievements and driving impactful initiatives that align with the administration’s goals. Their leadership will be critical in ensuring that the government’s programs in job creation, MSME support, and public health continue to yield tangible results for Nigerians.
As the Tinubu administration continues to prioritize economic growth and social welfare, these appointments reflect a strategic approach to governance, leveraging experienced hands to deliver on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
