Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has approved the appointment of Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi as the new Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt. The announcement was made in a special government statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, on Thursday in Port Harcourt.
The appointment takes immediate effect, with Prof. Zeb-Obipi succeeding Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, who was appointed by former Governor Nyesom Wike on March 5, 2020.
Prof. Zeb-Obipi, a Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, previously served as the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre at the Rivers State University. His appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and leadership to the institution.
