Trump Claims Only He Can End Russia-Ukraine War, Warns of World War III Risk

Washington, D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump asserted on Friday that European countries are struggling to find a resolution to the ongoing three-year Russia-Ukraine war, warning that the conflict could escalate into World War III if not resolved soon.

Speaking during a press briefing at the Oval Office, Trump reiterated his belief that he alone possesses the ability to broker peace between the two nations.

“They’re in a very unusual position; they don’t know how to end the war,” Trump said, referring to European leaders. “I think I do know how to end the war.”

Trump’s Confidence in Negotiating with Putin

Trump emphasized his longstanding relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite past controversies such as the “Russia hoax” allegations during his presidency. He expressed confidence that Putin is willing to negotiate a peaceful resolution.

“I think he’s going to be more generous than he has to be, and that’s pretty good. That means a lot of good things,” Trump stated, suggesting that Putin is open to a favorable deal.

The former president also criticized the handling of the conflict prior to its escalation, claiming that a better deal could have been struck to prevent the war altogether. “If the war had never started, you could have made a good deal that might not have required Ukraine to give anything up,” he said.

Challenges in Dealing with Ukraine

Trump acknowledged the difficulties in negotiating with Ukraine, stating, “I’m finding it hard to deal with Ukraine, and they don’t have the cards.” He suggested that it might be easier to negotiate directly with Russia, which he believes holds a stronger position in the conflict.

EU Announces $33 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine

The comments come as the European Union announced a $33 billion aid package for Ukraine on Thursday. French President Emmanuel Macron revealed that the funds would be sourced from sanctioned Russian assets, underscoring the EU’s commitment to supporting Ukraine amid the prolonged conflict.

Global Concerns Over Escalation

Trump’s warning about the potential for World War III reflects growing global concerns over the protracted war and its broader implications. While European leaders continue to support Ukraine financially and militarily, Trump’s remarks highlight the lack of a clear path to peace and the challenges of diplomatic negotiations.

As the conflict enters its fourth year, the international community remains divided on how to achieve a lasting resolution. Trump’s claims of being the only leader capable of ending the war add a new dimension to the ongoing debate, raising questions about the role of U.S. leadership in global diplomacy.
