Beyoncé launched her highly anticipated Cowboy Carter: The Ro Ch' Circuit tour on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, delivering a nearly three-hour powerhouse performance that celebrated Southern Black culture, freedom of expression, and her personal heritage. The show featured a dynamic setlist of around 35 songs spanning her illustrious career-from her 2008 album I Am… Sasha Fierce to 2022’s Renaissance, as well as selections from her latest chart-topping album Cowboy Carter.
The concert opened dramatically with Beyoncé dressed in an all-fringed outfit as pyrotechnics exploded on stage during the stirring number “American Requiem.” Massive LED screens displayed powerful imagery, including Beyoncé wearing a sash that read “Reclamation of America” and poignant scenes of American flag-draped coffins with the message “history can’t be erased,” underscoring themes of resilience and remembrance.
Beyoncé expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans for supporting her artistic freedom and the creation of her new album. The evening became even more special when her 13-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, joined her on stage during the performance of “America Has a Problem,” dancing alongside her mother. Later, her younger daughter Rumi, age 7, made a charming appearance during the song “Protector.”
The show was a spectacle of grand scale and creativity, featuring Beyoncé being served whiskey by a robot, soaring above the crowd suspended on a giant horseshoe, riding a mechanical bull during “Tyrant,” and playing a piano engulfed in flames. The Houston-born superstar closed the concert with an electrifying rendition of “16 Carriages” before the final bow.
The star-studded audience included notable figures such as Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King, reflecting the cultural significance of the event.
Cowboy Carter, released in March 2024, includes collaborations with artists like Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. The album broke multiple Billboard records and earned Beyoncé a Grammy for Album of the Year in January 2025.
Following her successful Los Angeles shows, Beyoncé is scheduled to continue the tour in Chicago on May 15.
