Controversial social media personality Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, claims to have been arrested by immigration officers in Nigeria for reasons unknown. Bobrisky shared the news on Instagram, stating, "Guys, I have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I don't know what I did o."
Immigration authorities have yet to confirm the arrest or provide details.
Bobrisky, a prominent figure on social media, gained notoriety as a crossdresser and self-proclaimed transgender woman, despite Nigeria's conservative views on gender identity.
This reported arrest follows months after Bobrisky announced relocating abroad to focus on personal well-being, even vowing never to return to Nigeria, stating he was "officially recognised as female" in an undisclosed country.
The arrest also comes after a six-month prison sentence last year for Naira abuse. Following his release, allegations surfaced that Bobrisky paid EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges and served his sentence in a private apartment, claims Bobrisky denied.
Fans are awaiting details on the reasons for the arrest. Despite controversies, Bobrisky has leveraged social media influence for brand endorsements, often showcasing a lavish lifestyle.
