Hakeem Baba-Ahmed Resigns as Tinubu's Special Adviser on Political Matters

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has resigned from his position as the Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Sources within the presidency confirmed that Baba-Ahmed submitted his resignation approximately two weeks ago.

Baba-Ahmed cited personal reasons for his decision in his resignation letter. As of now, it remains unconfirmed whether the presidency has formally accepted his resignation.

Appointed in September 2023, Baba-Ahmed served in the role for 17 months, representing the presidency at numerous public events. Previously, he was known for his outspoken role as the Director of Publicity and Advocacy for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), where he frequently criticized policies perceived as detrimental to the North and other regions of Nigeria.

Baba-Ahmed's resignation is a notable development within the Tinubu administration, prompting questions about the internal political dynamics within the presidency.
