Air Peace has strongly condemned the unruly behavior of Senator Adams Oshiomhole at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) in Lagos after he missed his scheduled 6:30 a.m. flight to Abuja on June 11, 2025. According to the airline, Oshiomhole arrived at the terminal around 6:10 a.m., after the boarding process had already closed, and the flight departed on time as per their strict on-time departure policy.
Upon being informed that he had missed the flight, the airline alleges that Oshiomhole reacted violently, physically assaulting staff members and forcibly barricading the terminal entrance. He reportedly sealed the entry gate and manned the access point, effectively preventing other passengers from entering the departure hall, causing significant disruption to airport operations and inconveniencing numerous travelers scheduled for various flights.
Air Peace described the senator’s conduct as “unacceptable” and “deeply saddening,” emphasizing their zero-tolerance stance on violence or aggression against staff and passengers. The airline activated a contingency plan to board affected passengers through an alternate terminal to minimize further disruption.
Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic and tense atmosphere, with airport and airline staff pleading with Oshiomhole to de-escalate the situation. A management meeting was convened urgently to pacify the senator and restore normal operations. Despite repeated efforts by the terminal manager, Oshiomhole refused to relent until the regional manager intervened.
The airline reiterated its commitment to discipline, integrity, and adherence to aviation safety protocols, underscoring that no individual, regardless of status, is above these values.
As of the time of reporting, Senator Oshiomhole had not officially responded to the allegations but was reportedly preparing to address the media at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many condemning the senator’s aggressive behavior, while others criticized Air Peace for enforcing strict boarding policies despite its reputation for flight delays and cancellations.
