Abia Tricycle Rider Returns ₦4 Million Forgotten by Passenger, Defies Critics: "I'm Not a Mugu"

In a heartwarming story that has captured the attention of many, a tricycle rider in Abia State has returned ₦4 million that was accidentally left behind by a passenger. The rider recounted how he found the passenger distressed at a junction near Ariara Market, where she was reportedly crying and contemplating suicide over the lost money.

“I returned to the park but did not see her again. Then, I went back to Ariara Market and found her at the junction where she was crying, wanted to kill herself,” the rider said. “I called her, wiped all her tears, then returned the money to her and took her to a hotel where she paid for it.”

Despite some of his fellow tricycle operators calling him a “mugu” (a Nigerian slang term for someone easily taken advantage of), the rider stood firm, saying, “I am not a mugu. I love what I did.”

His act of honesty and kindness has since gone viral, inspiring many Nigerians who often hear stories of theft and dishonesty. The rider’s humility and compassion in a challenging economic environment have earned him praise and admiration across social media platforms.
