Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has appointed Munirat Anto Lecky, a former Big Brother Naija housemate and media entrepreneur, as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Tourism and Creative Economy, effective June 23, 2025. The appointment was confirmed via an official letter signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government.
Anto Lecky is tasked with advancing Edo’s tourism and creative industries, focusing on promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage, including the return of looted Benin Bronzes and the development of museums and cultural institutions. Recognized for her experience, Lecky currently serves as Special Assistant on Digital and New Media to Nigeria’s Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu. She has also held leadership roles such as Head of Operations for Nigeria’s first private basketball league, Programme Manager at Kunle Afolayan Productions Film and Television Academy, and Arts and Special Projects Lead at ElectHER.
Expressing her gratitude on Instagram, Lecky stated her honor to serve Edo State at a pivotal time marked by cultural revitalization and a growing creative sector. Her appointment signals Edo’s commitment to positioning itself as a leading destination in Nigeria’s tourism and creative economy.
