NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results, Sets Resit Exams for July 23-24

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which was conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025. A total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination across 12 subjects.

The announcement followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna. Dr. Folake Olatunji David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and chairperson of the Award Committee, expressed satisfaction with the processes leading to the release of the results. The meeting was also attended by secondary school principals from across Nigeria and NECO management officials.

In addition to the results release, the Award Committee approved the timetable for the BECE resit examinations. The resits for Mathematics and English Studies are scheduled to hold nationwide on July 23 and 24, 2025. This gives candidates who did not perform satisfactorily an opportunity to improve their scores in these critical subjects.

NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, emphasized the council’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in managing the examination process and results dissemination.

Candidates are advised to check their results promptly and prepare for the upcoming resit exams if necessary.
