Nollywood veteran Tom Njeamanze is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and has made a heartfelt appeal to the public for financial assistance to cover the costs of urgent surgery. The actor’s condition was revealed by filmmaker and fellow actor Stanley Ontop, who shared a video on Instagram showing Njeamanze receiving hospital care, connected to an oxygen cylinder and intravenous drips.
Stanley Ontop urged fans and well-wishers to contribute whatever they can, emphasizing that “nothing is too small” to help the Nollywood legend. He stated, “Sir Tom Njeamanze has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he needs your support to undergo surgery. Help our legend live again.”
Tom Njeamanze is celebrated for his roles in classic Nigerian films such as Issakaba, Tokunboh, Atosa, Pounds and Dollars, Osuofia in London, Igbotic Love, and Brain Box. His performances have made him a household name and a respected figure in Nollywood’s golden era.
The appeal comes amid growing concerns over the lack of structural support for aging actors in the Nigerian film industry. Fans and colleagues have expressed deep sympathy and called for urgent intervention to save the veteran actor’s life.
This plea follows a similar recent appeal for fellow veteran actor John Amaefule, who is battling cancer and recovering from a partial stroke.
Bank details for donations have been shared publicly by Stanley Ontop to facilitate contributions towards Njeamanze’s medical expenses, highlighting the urgent need for community support during this critical time.
