Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rejected transfer offers from two major European clubs and lucrative bids from Saudi Arabian teams to finalize a historic move to Galatasaray. According to Nigerian journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, Osimhen made it clear to Napoli that his preferred destination is Galatasaray, where he spent the 2024-25 season on loan and scored 37 goals in 41 appearances.
After negotiations, Napoli and Galatasaray agreed on a €75 million transfer fee, making it the largest transfer deal in Turkish football history. The agreement entails an upfront payment of €40 million with the remaining €35 million to be paid in installments, and includes a clause preventing Osimhen from transferring to an Italian club for the next two years.
The 26-year-old striker is set to sign a four-year contract earning an annual salary of €18 million and is scheduled to travel to Istanbul soon for his official unveiling.
Osimhen’s commitment to Galatasaray reflects his desire to continue thriving in Turkey, where he has become a fan favorite and instrumental part of the club’s attack.
