Mark Gordon, partner of British aristocrat Constance Marten, has been described as a dangerous “psychopath” by a woman he raped 36 years ago in Florida. When Gordon was just 14, he broke into the woman’s home armed with a kitchen knife and hedge clippers, holding her captive for over four hours and sexually assaulting her. The victim, who has spoken out publicly for the first time, said Gordon should have been sentenced to life imprisonment as a juvenile, adding, “The four-and-a-half hours I spent with him was enough to know he is evil.”
Gordon was convicted in the US in 1990 for armed kidnapping, armed sexual battery, and other offenses, receiving a 40-year sentence but was released after 22 years and extradited to the UK. Despite his violent past, details of his crimes were not fully disclosed during his initial trial in the UK alongside Marten. The couple was recently convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence after their baby daughter Victoria died while they were living off-grid in freezing conditions during a police manhunt.
The victim expressed shock upon learning in 2023 that Gordon was fleeing UK police and emphasized the need for him to face harsh punishment to protect others. Gordon’s history includes further convictions, such as assaulting police officers and suspected domestic violence against Marten. The case has drawn widespread attention due to the severity of Gordon’s past crimes and the tragic death of their child. Sentencing for the couple is scheduled for September 15, 2025.
