National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Bay FC celebrated Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala in recognition of her significant contributions to Nigeria’s victorious campaign at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The 30-year-old forward was honoured at Bay FC’s PayPal Park ahead of their match against San Diego Wave.
Oshoala played five games for Nigeria during the tournament, scoring a key goal in the Super Falcons’ opening 3-0 win over Tunisia.
With this triumph, Oshoala has secured her fourth WAFCON title with the Nigerian national team. Her impressive international career includes 37 goals in 61 appearances for Nigeria.
Bay FC’s tribute highlights Oshoala’s impact both as a club player and an inspirational leader on the African and global women’s football stage.
The honour follows Nigeria’s historic 10th WAFCON title victory and national recognition for the players, who were each conferred with prestigious awards and financial rewards by the Nigerian government.
Oshoala dismisses retirement rumours and remains a committed, influential figure in Nigeria’s efforts on the road to future international tournaments.
