The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reported that 4.44 million Nigerians have registered online, while 509,929 have completed physical registration during the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
As of Sunday, September 14, a total of 4,445,505 Nigerians had pre-registered online over the four weeks since the exercise began on August 18.
Of this number, 48.17% (2,141,294) were male and 51.83% (2,304,211) female.
In terms of age and occupation, 65.79% (2,924,643) were between 18 and 34 years old, while 25.02% (1,112,344) were students.
As of Friday, September 12, the combined total of completed online and physical registrations stood at 509,929, with females (54.94%) slightly outnumbering males (45.06%).
Among those physically registered, 74.15% (378,132) were youths aged 18 to 34, and 38.54% (196,529) were students.
INEC has uploaded detailed registration data by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability on its official platforms for public access.
Online voter pre-registration for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ended on September 15, moving to physical registration over the next two weeks at designated venues.
From September 29 to October 8, registration will be devolved to all 62 wards in the FCT, with centre addresses published online.
