Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has cautioned Nigerians about a grave threat facing the country, urging unity to remove President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai, a key member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the remarks during a solidarity visit from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, following an attack on El-Rufai by APC-sponsored thugs at the recent ADC inauguration in Kaduna.
Stressing the severity of the situation, El-Rufai said, “We are facing an evil of a large proportion in the history of this country. If we don’t come together to end this Tinubu administration in 2027, Tinubu will try to be our Paul Biya, he would be president for life.”
He compared the current administration’s centralization efforts unfavorably to true federalism and criticized it for alienating democratic principles.
El-Rufai lamented, “This is worse than any military regime we’ve ever had,” underscoring deteriorating political freedoms and governance quality.
Reiterating support for Atiku’s leadership, he called on Nigerians to unite and end the ruling APC government’s tenure, expressing hope for democratic renewal.
