Hilda Baci to Cook World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice Using 250 Bags of Basmati Rice

Hilda Baci, the renowned food influencer and Guinness World Record holder, has revealed that she will be cooking 250 bags of basmati rice for her upcoming attempt at making the world’s largest pot of jollof rice. The giant pot designed for this feat has a volume of 22,619 liters, and she plans to fill it up to 75-80%, which translates roughly to 5,278 kilograms of rice, but she has adjusted this to 250 bags strategically.

The cooking event is scheduled for September 12, 2025, at Muri Okquala Park in Victoria Island, Lagos. Baci has shared that she will use 1,583 kilograms of tomato paste, evenly divided with pepper chicken paste and jollof paste, aiming to create the most delicious and largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice ever made.

This ambitious project not only aims to set a new world record but also celebrates Nigerian food culture, community, and heritage. Hilda Baci’s previous Guinness record was for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, and this new challenge has drawn widespread interest and excitement.
