Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Urges Nigerians to Fund National Library as Birthday Gift

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has appealed to Nigerians to redirect birthday gifts and greetings into donations to support the completion of the National Library project. As she approaches her 65th birthday on September 21, 2025, she announced she will dedicate the day to God and a cause close to her heart, instead of hosting a lavish celebration.

In a video message, she urged well-wishers to forgo traditional gifts such as cards, cakes, flowers, or newspaper greetings and instead contribute financially to the "Oluremi at 65 Education Fund" coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Education. Donations can be made via a designated Zenith Bank account.

Her spokesperson also cautioned the public about fake accounts circulating to collect funds in her name. The First Lady described her love for education as the driving force behind this initiative and called on Nigerians to support the cause of advancing education through this special project.
