A brutal attack by armed bandits in Ogba-Ayo community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, left scores dead including the community Baale and his two children. The tragic assault occurred on Sunday morning around 7:35 AM, sending shockwaves through the region.
Residents reported that the bandits stormed the community in the early hours, unleashing violence that claimed many innocent lives, including forest guards and local vigilantes. Several others were abducted during the raid, amplifying the humanitarian crisis in the area. The attack is one of the deadliest in recent times for Kwara State, worsening the security challenges faced by the local populace.
In response, the Nigerian Army headquarters has deployed the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Ibadan, to Kwara to restore peace and order. Security agencies, including police tactical teams, are collaborating in intensified patrols and efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
