Pastor Enenche Warns Nigerians Against Online Loan Apps, Calling Them 'Agents of the Devil

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians against using online loan platforms, labeling them as “agents of the devil in covenant with the spirit of debt.” Speaking during a Sunday service in Abuja, Pastor Enenche expressed deep concern over the rising cases of depression and suicide linked to the predatory practices of these loan apps across the country.

“Many people have been deceived by the promise of quick financial relief,” he said, “but once they fall into the trap, they are subjected to harassment, intimidation, and embarrassment that sometimes push them into depression or even suicide.”

The cleric described how loan app companies employ aggressive tactics, including automated calls, threatening messages, and even publishing defamatory statements and fake obituaries online to shame defaulters. He urged Christians to resist the temptation of easy money, warning that these platforms engage in destructive and demonic covenants.

His remarks come amidst growing public outcry over unethical practices by online loan providers in Nigeria. Many of these platforms have been accused of violating user privacy and resorting to extreme measures to recover debts, prompting calls for stricter regulation.

Pastor Enenche’s message highlights the urgent need for awareness about the dangers of predatory digital lending and the importance of responsible financial choices.
