President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau, a highly respected traditional title in the Zazzau Emirate, Zaria, Kaduna State. The turbaning ceremony, overseen by Emir Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, took place on Saturday, marking a significant cultural milestone.
In a congratulatory message issued by his special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the title as a recognition of Sambo’s exemplary leadership, integrity, and lifelong commitment to public service. He noted that the position of Sardaunan Zazzau holds great cultural and historical importance in Northern Nigeria, reflecting the Emirate’s confidence in Sambo’s wisdom and dedication.
The President praised Sambo’s record of humility, statesmanship, and dedication to humanity, highlighting that the honour underscores his deep service to his community and nation. Tinubu also commended the Emir of Zazzau for maintaining the tradition of recognizing individuals whose character and patriotism embody the Emirate’s core values of unity, service, and integrity.
Wishing Sambo success in his new role, the President encouraged him to continue inspiring younger generations and to work closely with traditional and community leaders to promote peace and national development.
