Two England youth internationals of Nigerian descent, Chizaram Ezenwata and Tyrique George, are among eight players nominated for Chelsea's prestigious Goal of the Month award for September 2025. Both players are rising stars from Chelsea’s academy, recognized for their spectacular and decisive goals.
Chizaram Ezenwata, a forward and 2025 Flying Eagles invitee, earned his nomination for a composed Panenka penalty during Chelsea U18's 2-0 Premier League victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Cobham Training Ground. His confident finish in the 80th minute showcased his calm under pressure.
Tyrique George, known for his flair and attacking prowess, was nominated for an outstanding long-range strike in the Carabao Cup third-round match against Lincoln City. Early in the second half, the winger capitalized on a loose ball, unleashing a powerful 20-yard shot that crashed off the post and into the net, marking a vital goal in Chelsea’s comeback.
The list of nominees also includes first-team stars like Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer, as well as academy talents Harrison Murray-Campbell, Kobe Barbour, Facundo Buonanotte, and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen. Fans are encouraged to vote for their favourite goal via the Chelsea official app.
