In a fiery and unfiltered video that has set social media ablaze, popular Nigerian comedian and Big Brother Naija star DeeOne has issued a dramatic public demand to the Federal Government: immediately investigate every single Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) operating in the country.
According to the outspoken entertainer, many of these organisations — which Nigerians often celebrate as lifesavers — have quietly transformed into sophisticated criminal enterprises.
In the viral clip circulating on Instagram, DeeOne didn’t mince words:
“Federal Government, please investigate ALL the NGO accounts in this country!
A whole lot of them are being used to sponsor terrorism.
They sponsor kidnappers.
They sponsor child trafficking.
Some are even involved in human harvesting sponsorship!”
He went on to describe what he sees as a disturbing and suspiciously common pattern:A whole lot of them are being used to sponsor terrorism.
They sponsor kidnappers.
They sponsor child trafficking.
Some are even involved in human harvesting sponsorship!”
“Nowadays in Nigeria, if somebody rescues even one person from danger, the next thing you see is them opening an NGO.
And almost immediately, they become multi-millionaires!
We’re not against people making money, but it has to be legitimate — not on the blood and tears of innocent Nigerians.”
The explosive allegations come at a time when public trust in both local and international NGOs is already under serious scrutiny, especially following earlier controversies surrounding foreign aid agencies and their alleged ties to security challenges in the North. And almost immediately, they become multi-millionaires!
We’re not against people making money, but it has to be legitimate — not on the blood and tears of innocent Nigerians.”
DeeOne’s blunt call has sharply divided opinion online. While thousands of supporters praise him for “saying what many people are scared to say,” others warn that such blanket accusations could damage the reputation of genuine humanitarian organisations that have spent years delivering food, medical aid, education, and trauma support in conflict zones and rural communities.
As Nigeria continues to battle multiple security crises from banditry and kidnapping to lingering insurgency the comedian’s provocative question hangs in the air:Is the unchecked and rapid rise of millionaire NGOs hiding a dangerous dark side?
Many are now asking: Will the government finally take up DeeOne’s challenge and launch a full, transparent audit of the NGO sector or will this remain just another viral outburst that fades away?
The conversation has only just begun.
