2026 WCQ: Rohr Predicts Zimbabwe’s Strategy Against Super Eagles in Uyo

Former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has predicted that Zimbabwe will adopt a defensive approach when they face Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Uyo.

Rohr, who has extensive knowledge of African football, believes the Zimbabwean team will focus on counter-attacks and set-pieces to neutralize Nigeria’s attacking prowess.

“Zimbabwe will likely sit back and try to hit Nigeria on the break. They know the Super Eagles are strong, so they will aim to exploit any defensive lapses,” Rohr said in an interview on Friday.

The match, scheduled for next month, is a crucial step in Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Rohr urged the Super Eagles to remain focused and avoid complacency, emphasizing the importance of securing a win at home.

As the countdown to the qualifier begins, fans are hoping for a strong performance from the Super Eagles to boost their chances of securing a spot in the global tournament.
