Benue Police Arrest Vigilante Commander, Herdsman in Connection With Deadly Anwule Attack

Operatives of the Benue State Police Command have arrested three suspects, including a vigilante commander and a herdsman, following an attack that left several dead in Anwule community, Ohimini Local Government Area. The suspects, identified as Isah Peter and Moses Peter from Agatu LGA, were detained after coordinated investigations linked them to the deadly incident.

The Anwule attack has sparked renewed tension in the region, with residents and community leaders expressing fears of further violence and reprisals. Local sources confirmed the involvement of both vigilante operatives and suspected herdsmen in the violence that began as a sustained series of assaults several days earlier.
