2027: SDP’s Strength Won’t Be Enough to Unseat Tinubu, Says Primate Ayodele

Renowned cleric and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has expressed doubts about the Social Democratic Party (SDP)’s ability to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement released on Sunday, Ayodele acknowledged the SDP’s growing influence but stated that the party lacks the necessary political strength to defeat the incumbent president.

“While the SDP is making efforts to position itself as a strong opposition, it does not yet have the capacity to challenge President Tinubu’s political machinery,” Ayodele said.

The cleric, known for his prophetic insights on national issues, urged opposition parties to form stronger alliances if they hope to present a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“For any party to stand a chance in 2027, unity and strategic collaboration among opposition forces will be key,” he added.

Ayodele’s remarks come amid increasing political realignments ahead of the next general elections, with analysts closely watching the dynamics between Nigeria’s major and emerging parties.

As the 2027 race gradually takes shape, political stakeholders are weighing their options, while the electorate anticipates a robust democratic contest.
