Annie Idibia Drops 'Idibia' Surname as Natasha Osawaru Adopts It in Instagram Bio Amid 2Baba Love Triangle

The ongoing saga between Nigerian music legend 2Baba (Innocent Idibia), his estranged wife Annie Idibia, and new lover Natasha Osawaru has taken another dramatic turn as both women made symbolic changes to their Instagram profiles this week.

Annie, who had been silent since her separation from the African Queen crooner, has officially reverted to her maiden name "Macaulay" on Instagram, while Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru has added "Idibia" to her bio a move fans are interpreting as a bold claim to her new status in the singer's life.

The digital name swap comes just days after viral videos showed 2Baba proposing to Natasha in a lavish ceremony where he placed a ring on her finger amid cheers from friends, spraying money in celebration.

This public display followed 2Baba's shocking January announcement that he and Annie had been separated "for a while" and were filing for divorce, a statement he later confirmed in a live video by asserting, "No one hacked my account. I said what I said. I come in peace."

The couple, who married in 2012 after Annie starred in his iconic "African Queen" music video, subsequently unfollowed each other on social media, drawing a stark digital line under their once-envied romance.

Annie's decision to scrub her Instagram entirely before re-emerging under her maiden name speaks volumes. In her first post since the breakup, she wrote emotionally, "To my family, to my friends who came through for me...God bless you for the outpouring of love," signing off as "Annie Uwana Macaulay" a clear departure from the Idibia name she carried for over a decade.

Meanwhile, Natasha's Instagram now prominently displays "Honourable Natasha Idibia," a not-so-subtle nod to her relationship with the music icon despite not being legally married. The juxtaposition hasn't been lost on fans, with social media ablaze over the symbolic surname swap.

Complicating matters further, 2Baba's mother Rose Idibia has publicly pleaded with Natasha to "leave my son alone," even alleging the singer wasn't in his "right senses" when he proposed a claim Natasha dismissed.

As the drama unfolds, one thing is clear: while Annie appears to be closing one chapter of her life, Natasha is eagerly writing her own into the Idibia family legacy, all under the unforgiving spotlight of public scrutiny.
