Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has officially dropped her married surname, Idibia, and returned to her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay, following her separation from music star Innocent "2Baba" Idibia.
The couple, who married in 2012, announced their split in January 2025 when 2Baba shared the news on his Instagram page. Annie remained silent until Thursday, March 27, when she made a comeback online, wiping her Instagram page clean of all previous posts.
Breaking her silence, Annie expressed gratitude to her supporters in a heartfelt post:
"To my family and friends who came through for me, the support system I have now, all my amazing family here and all over the world—God bless you for the outpouring of love. I appreciate every single one of you, and I don’t take any of it for granted. May the universe continue to be in your favor. Lots of LOVE. Annie Uwana Macaulay."
Despite the name change in her post, her Instagram handle (@annie_idibia1) still retains the Idibia surname.
Fans have since reacted to the development, with many praising her strength and wishing her well in this new chapter of her life.
