Oluwo of Iwo Stands Firm: "No One Can Dethrone Me"

The traditional ruler of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland, has dismissed rumors of his possible removal, declaring confidently that no one has the power to dethrone him. The monarch made the statement in response to growing speculation about his position following recent controversies.

Speaking at his palace, the Oluwo emphasized his legitimacy and connection to his people. "I was duly installed as the Oluwo according to our traditions and customs. My position is sacred, and no individual or group can remove me," he stated.

The monarch's comments come amid whispers of discontent from some quarters, though he attributed these to "enemies of progress" trying to destabilize his reign. He urged the people of Iwo to disregard any rumors and remain united under his leadership.

Local chiefs and community leaders present at the gathering voiced their support for the Oluwo, describing him as a progressive ruler who has brought development to the town.

Despite the show of solidarity, observers note that the palace has been at the center of several controversies in recent years, including public disputes with other traditional rulers.

For now, the Oluwo remains steadfast, projecting an image of unshakable authority while calling for peace and unity among his subjects.
