Abia State PDP Expels Senator Adolphus Wabara Over Anti-Party Activities

Umuahia, Abia State – The Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Senator Adolphus Wabara, the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), over allegations of anti-party activities. The expulsion was announced on Tuesday by the Abia State PDP Chairman, Abraham Amah, following the adoption of a report by a disciplinary committee set up to investigate Wabara’s conduct.

According to Amah, the committee thoroughly reviewed Wabara’s earlier suspension and concluded that his actions warranted expulsion. The decision was primarily based on Wabara’s public endorsement of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for a second term in office, which the PDP deemed a betrayal of the party’s interests.

“The investigative committee found Senator Wabara guilty of anti-party activities, particularly his endorsement of Governor Alex Otti, which is a clear act of disloyalty to the PDP,” Amah stated. “As a result, the party has decided to expel him and has urged the PDP National body to nominate a new BoT Chairman.”

The PDP’s move underscores its commitment to maintaining discipline and loyalty within its ranks, especially as the state prepares for future elections. The party has called on its members to remain steadfast and uphold its principles.

As of the time of this report, Senator Wabara and his supporters had not issued any statement regarding his expulsion. The development has sparked reactions within political circles, with many awaiting further details on the implications for the PDP’s leadership and its strategies moving forward.
