French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu has revealed that France is providing Ukraine with military intelligence as the country continues its war with Russia. This announcement comes after the United States paused all military aid to Ukraine, including vital intelligence data used for both offensive and defensive operations.
Speaking to France Inter radio on Thursday, Lecornu emphasized France’s commitment to supporting Ukraine, stating that the country’s intelligence-sharing efforts remain active.
“Our intelligence is sovereign,” Lecornu said. “We have intelligence that we allow Ukraine to benefit from.”
Lecornu also disclosed that French President Emmanuel Macron had instructed him to “accelerate” French aid to Ukraine in response to the U.S. decision to halt assistance. This move underscores France’s determination to bolster Ukraine’s capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
The U.S. pause on military aid has raised concerns about the impact on Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian aggression. However, France’s continued support highlights the European Union’s role in sustaining Ukraine’s efforts on the battlefield.
DAILY MENTOR reports that France’s decision to step up its assistance reflects the broader international commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and security, even as global dynamics shift. The development also underscores the importance of intelligence-sharing in modern warfare and its role in shaping the outcome of the conflict.
