Man Fatally Stabbed in Borno IDP Camp Dispute

A 30-year-old man, Aji Kawu, was fatally stabbed during a dispute at the RRR Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Monguno Local Government Area, Borno State, on March 5.

According to sources, the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. following an argument between Kawu and another camp resident, Musa Ajit. During the altercation, Ajit allegedly stabbed Kawu in the left shoulder with a knife.


Security personnel responded swiftly to the scene, and the injured man was rushed to Monguno General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that Kawu’s body was later deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy before being released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

Authorities have confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Musa Ajit, as investigations into the incident continue.
