Former President Muhammadu Buhari has asserted that his physical assets remained unchanged from when he assumed office on May 29, 2015, to when he left.
Buhari made this statement during a meeting with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) at his residence in Kaduna, according to his media aide, Garba Shehu. He also advised the governors to prioritize a citizen-centric approach, emphasizing that leadership offers both challenges and opportunities that must be balanced to advance national progress.
Buhari expressed his confidence in the APC governors and urged them to continue dedicating themselves to the nation's progress. He also thanked the Tinubu administration for renovating his Kaduna home, noting the improvements made inside while maintaining the external appearance.
The Chairman of the PGF, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, stated that their visit was to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with the former president and to express gratitude for his contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and the APC. Uzodinma praised Buhari's role in founding the APC and highlighted his legacy in securing the party's identity.
He also acknowledged Buhari's public affirmation of the APC as his party of choice and commended his administration's focus on security, economic recovery, and anti-corruption. Uzodinma noted the impact of programs such as the Anchor Borrowers Scheme on food security and Buhari's efforts to promote domestic production. He affirmed that the APC is being renewed under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership and pledged to deepen progressive politics across the nation.
