Former Living Faith Vice-President David Abioye Launches New Church, Announces Sunday Morning Services Starting May 4

Pastor David Abioye, former vice-president of Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), has started a new church following his retirement in October 2024. Abioye announced on his official X handle on April 27, 2025, that his ministry, which initially held Sunday evening services, will now hold Sunday morning services beginning May 4 at 8:00 a.m.

Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu retired from Winners Chapel after a policy review set the mandatory retirement age for church leaders at 55. At retirement, Abioye was 63 and Aremu 67. The new policy also limits future leaders to one or two seven-year terms, subject to Board of Trustees approval.

Upon retirement, Abioye launched a non-denominational ministry, emphasizing that it was birthed from a divine mandate rather than personal ambition. He encouraged members to pursue personal revival as the foundation for corporate renewal. The announcement of the shift to Sunday morning services was met with enthusiasm from his congregation, who expressed excitement and readiness to be blessed.

Abioye’s move marks a new chapter after decades of service under Bishop Oyedepo’s leadership, reflecting his continued commitment to ministry outside the structure of Winners Chapel.
