Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former Governor of Oyo State, has died at the age of 89.
Olunloyo, the first person from Ibadan to govern the state, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, just three months shy of his 90th birthday.
Olunloyo served as the Governor of old Oyo State for a brief period between October and December 1983. Sources close to the family indicate that he had been battling age-related ailments in recent weeks.
