Ganduje Claims Kwankwaso Will Soon Rejoin APC After NNPP 'Dies'

Abuja, Nigeria - All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has asserted that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, will soon rejoin the APC. Ganduje made the claim while addressing members of the Tinubu support groups (TSG) at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.

Ganduje described Kwankwaso as a "general" wandering aimlessly after losing his key supporters in recent political battles. He attributed Kwankwaso's purported decision to rejoin the APC to the NNPP's decline, stating that the party is "as good as dead."

The former Kano State governor cited the recent defections of NNPP members in both the Kano State Assembly and the National Assembly to the APC as evidence of Kwankwaso's weakening political position. He stated that the APC is ready to welcome Kwankwaso back into its fold, referring to him as "coming home after losing his foot soldiers."

“That party called the NNPP is dead and it will soon be buried. The coffin where we would put the dead body of the party has already been constructed,” Ganduje declared. “Even the so-called leader of the party (Kwankwaso), he too after losing everywhere wants to come back to APC.”

Ganduje also dismissed the ongoing efforts by a coalition of politicians to challenge the APC, stating that the APC remains the best political platform for Nigerians.
