Imo PDP Backs Sack of Anyanwu, Endorses Koshoedo as National Secretary

The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially endorsed the decision of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to remove Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary and appoint Arch. Setonji Koshoedo as his replacement.

Imo PDP Interim Chairman, Chris Odoemenan, described the move as a new beginning for the party in the state. He announced that the entire party structure in Imo, including all 27 local government caretaker committees, had unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the NWC’s action.

In a statement issued after an emergency meeting in Owerri, the leadership pledged full loyalty to the new National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, and to Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the only PDP member currently representing the state in the House of Representatives, who is widely regarded as the party’s leader in Imo.

The Imo PDP also called on the NWC to ratify the state interim executive committee as nominated by party leaders at the upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. Odoemenan expressed optimism that, with Anyanwu’s removal, internal disputes within the state chapter have been resolved, positioning the PDP to rebound ahead of future electoral contests in Imo State.
