Kwankwaso Warns Against Betraying Kwankwasiyya Amid Kano Governor Defection Rumors

Rabiu Kwankwaso, NNPP National Leader, cautioned that betraying the Kwankwasiyya movement guarantees political downfall in Kano State, citing history since 1999. In a viral video message, he addressed rumors of Governor Abba Yusuf switching to APC, urging loyalty to avoid repeating past failures. Kwankwaso stressed betrayal never succeeds long-term, with defectors enjoying brief gains before vanishing.

Kwankwaso highlighted politicians who left the movement and thrived temporarily some for up to 10 years but ultimately "flat on the floor" today. He advised members to learn from examples rather than costly personal errors, noting no one succeeds via disloyalty anywhere. This reinforces Kwankwasiyya's dominance in Kano politics.

Speculation swirls over Abba Yusuf, NNPP's Kano governor since 2023, potentially joining APC amid national defection waves like Peter Obi's to ADC. Kwankwaso's direct plea targets influencers to dissuade crossovers on day one, year one, or beyond. [

The warning fits intensifying 2027 jockeying, with NNPP facing APC pressure in northern strongholds. Kwankwaso's rhetoric echoes unity calls from Atiku and Akpabio while countering betrayal amid tax reform spats and opposition shifts. Kano remains pivotal for NNPP survival.
