Chief Jude Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate developer, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election. Ezenwafor secured the party's ticket unopposed during the primary held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka.
The primary saw 853 delegates accredited, with Ezenwafor receiving 798 'yes' votes and 26 invalid votes. The process was conducted by Colonel Chijioke Onwubuya, who declared Ezenwafor the winner in accordance with PDP rules.
Ezenwafor expressed his gratitude to the delegates and emphasized the PDP's mission to reclaim leadership in Anambra. He vowed to work tirelessly to ensure the party's victory, stating that he has the resources needed to deliver Anambra to the PDP. Ezenwafor also announced plans to establish a billionaires club and make local government and ward chairmen automatic coordinators of his campaign team.
The Anambra governorship election is set to be highly competitive, with candidates from other major parties, including APGA's Professor Chukwuma Soludo, APC's Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Labour Party's Chief George Muoghalu, and AAC's Miss Chioma Ifemeludike, already in the race.
