Nollywood is witnessing a heated feud as popular actress Laide Bakare has publicly vowed to "deal with" her colleague, Eniola Badmus, after Badmus allegedly referred to her as an "animal" in a private message.
The altercation between the two stars reportedly began at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film, "Owanbe Thieves," on Sunday. Tensions escalated when Bakare took to Instagram on Monday to share a screenshot of a direct message from Badmus, in which Badmus wrote:
“Don’t bring your terrible animalistic behaviour around me. Stay farrrrrrrr.”
In her response, Bakare expressed outrage and recounted her past support for Badmus, claiming she gave Badmus her first major acting role at a time when others shunned her due to her "ugly looks and obesity." Bakare wrote:
“I gave you your first major role in life when no one wants to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity.
I spent my own hard-earned money on an ingrate like you, and all you could pay me back with is to call me Animal? Haaa! ENIOLA! Almighty God will judge you, Insha Allah. You just started what you cannot finish, and I promise you must collect.”
The public exchange has sparked widespread discussion among fans and within the Nollywood community, with many awaiting further developments in the ongoing dispute.
