Rapper Tay-K Convicted of Murder for Second Time

Taymor McIntyre, known as rapper Tay-K, has been convicted of murder for the second time. The jury found him guilty of fatally shooting Mark Anthony Saldivar in San Antonio in 2017.

McIntyre is already serving a 55-year jail sentence for a separate fatal shooting. For the Saldivar killing, he faces a possible life sentence with parole.

Prosecutors argued that McIntyre shot Saldivar during a robbery attempt. The defense criticized the police investigation, stating that it overly relied on statements from witnesses who were in the car during the shooting. One of McIntyre’s attorneys, John Hunter, told jurors that the work to prove his client's guilt "wasn’t done".

The jury did not convict McIntyre of capital murder, which would have meant a life sentence without parole. The trial will continue with evidence presented for the punishment phase, after which the sentence will be decided.
