London, England – Nigerian football legend Michael Emenalo is celebrating a proud family milestone as his son, Landon Emenalo, has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea FC after turning 17. Landon, a talented midfielder born in 2008, has been part of Chelsea’s academy since the Under-8 level, with a brief stint at Monaco before returning to Cobham as an Under-13.
Landon’s signing was officially announced by Chelsea following his 17th birthday, marking a significant step in his budding career. He made his competitive debut for Chelsea U21s in January 2024 and has featured regularly for the club’s U18 team, impressing with his composure and creativity on the pitch.
Michael Emenalo, a former Super Eagles star and ex-Chelsea technical director, expressed his joy at his son’s achievement. Michael played for Nigeria at the 1994 World Cup and is currently the director of football for the Saudi Pro League.
Landon has also represented both the USA and England at the Under-17 level, further underlining his potential as a future star.
