Portable Arrested Over Alleged Slander of Saheed Osupa

Controversial Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Okikilola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command following allegations of defamation by veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa.

Portable was apprehended on Sunday, April 13, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, based on a warrant secured by the police in Ilorin. The arrest stems from a petition filed by Osupa, whose full name is Okunola Saheed, accusing Portable of criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, character assassination, and conduct likely to disturb public peace.

According to Kwara State Police Command spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the allegations were supported by substantial evidence. Following his arrest, Portable was transported to Ilorin for questioning in the presence of legal representatives from both parties.

The charges against Portable relate to the use of "abusive and offensive language" allegedly directed at Saheed Osupa on social media and other public platforms. As of now, Portable remains in police custody, and arrangements are underway to formally charge him in court.

This arrest adds to the list of legal issues surrounding the outspoken artist, whose public controversies have often overshadowed his music career.
