Tinubu Departs Abuja for Working Visit to France

ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja on Wednesday for a brief working visit to Paris, France, according to a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.

During his time in France, President Tinubu will evaluate his administration's mid-term performance and assess key achievements. The retreat will also serve as an opportunity to review the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning as the administration approaches its second anniversary. This period of reflection will inform future plans to deepen reforms and accelerate national development priorities.

The President's trip coincides with recent economic progress, including a significant increase in Nigeria's net foreign exchange reserves to $23.11 billion, as reported by the Central Bank of Nigeria. This increase reflects the administration's fiscal reforms since 2023 when net reserves stood at $3.99 billion.

President Tinubu will remain actively engaged with his team and continue to oversee governance activities while abroad. He is expected to return to Nigeria in approximately two weeks.

Nigeria and France maintain a strong relationship encompassing economic, security, and cultural cooperation. France is a significant trading partner and investor in Nigeria, and both countries collaborate on various security and development initiatives.
