UTME: JAMB Disowns Fraudulent Examination Messages in Circulation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially distanced itself from misleading and fraudulent messages circulating via a spoofed version of its 66019 short code. These deceptive messages instruct candidates some of whom have already sat for the resit examination and received their results to reprint their examination slips for another resit.

JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, issued a statement on Wednesday clarifying that these messages are not from JAMB and are intended to create confusion among candidates and the general public.

Dr. Benjamin emphasized:

“There are currently no scheduled examinations. Candidates who have successfully completed the resit examination and received their results need not be concerned.”

He further clarified that the only examination JAMB is planning to conduct, which has yet to be scheduled, is the foreign examination for candidates in nine countries across Europe, the Middle East, and certain African nations. Additionally, a mop-up examination will be organized for candidates who missed both the main and resit examinations and have been granted waivers for 2025 due to biometric failures.

JAMB urged the public to disregard these fraudulent messages, assuring that only those qualified for the mop-up examination will be officially notified once preparations are complete.
