India Plane Crash: 265 Dead Bodies Recovered from Ahmedabad Crash Site


At least 265 bodies have been recovered following the crash of a London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in a residential area of Ahmedabad city. The aircraft, which was carrying 242 passengers and crew including 53 British nationals, 169 Indians, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian lost signal shortly after departing Ahmedabad airport.

According to Indian Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kanan Desai, the death toll includes both those on board and at least 24 people who died on the ground when the plane struck a residential building. Authorities warn that the number of fatalities may rise as rescue teams, aided by sniffer dogs, continue to search the crash site and recover more body parts.

The tragedy represents one of the deadliest air disasters in recent Indian history, with ongoing efforts to identify victims and provide support to affected families.
